Jochen Schweizer, Event

Event photographer at the Jochen Schweizer Arena

The Jochen Schweizer Arena in Taufkirchen is one of the most extraordinary
event venues in the south of Munich and an excellent location for event photography.
Body flying in the wind tunnel, indoor surfing, the high ropes course, the open
architecture with glass fronts: each of these modules delivers images that simply cannot be created in a
classic conference venue.

As an event photographer, I have covered several corporate events at the arena,
from partner days to international conferences. If you are planning an event here,
I will tell you during the pre-briefing at which stations the strongest
images are created and how best to structure the day from a photographic perspective.

Events I have photographed at the arena

C4B partner event “XPhone Unlimited” adrenaline day for
IT partners. The unified communications manufacturer C4B from Germering had
invited its partners to present the new XPhone Connect release and
combine the day with body flying, indoor surfing and the high ropes course.
Documentation with photos and a short recap video.

Workday Elevate Munich international HR tech conference
at the arena. More on this in the post about Workday Elevate.

Both days show just how different the arena can be at the same time:
highly focused talks in the conference area and adrenaline-fuelled action outside,
often on the very same day.

What makes the arena special as a photo location

  • Wind tunnel/body flying: shots of participants
floating in the airflow are an eye-catcher on any event page, in the recap
and in the follow-up on social media.
  • Indoor surf wave: action with water, spray and
unusual perspectives. Anyone surfing here automatically delivers strong
    images.
  • High ropes course: bird’s-eye perspective from the course,
ideal for team shots with height and a sense of space.
  • Conference area: calm, professional
talk photography with plenty of daylight through the glass fronts.
  • Outdoor area and lounge spaces: relaxed
networking images in good weather, away from the loud action modules.

How I work at the arena

My style is calm and unobtrusive. I move between the
stations, capture the action at the wind tunnel and surf wave, document the
talks in the conference room and capture the networking moments during breaks
. Photo and video from a single source on request.

What your event team gets from me:

  • A pre-briefing with schedule coordination: which
modules should be photographed, which talks need special
attention, are there hero shots that are central to the post-event coverage
    .
  • Web-quality images on the same day for social media
    and press work.
  • The final selection in full resolution within
    a few days.
  • Optional recap film: short highlight video for
    social media or an aftermovie.
